Chenard-Walcker, also known as Chenard & Walcker and Chenard et Walcker was a French automobile manufacturer, from 1901 - 1946. The factory was in Asnières. The first products were tricycles and two- and four-cylinder cars, until closure in 1907. The company reappeared as Société Anonyme des Anciens Étabissements Chenard et Walcker in Gennevilliers, in 1908.
The 2-litre car of 1922 was the winner of the very first Le Mans 24 Hours Race, in
1923.
Despite it's relatively long existance (from 1901 to 1946), the marque Chenard-Walcker from France was rather unknown. It's most important achievement was winning the very first 24-hour race of Le Mans in 1923. The car in the picture (from Jean Tua's collection) is a 4-seater from 1913, equiped with a 4 cylinder, 2.000 cc, 10 HP engine
