Dorris_NPCB_2_A.jpgDorris 1912108 viewsDescription: This is a heavy cast brass hubcap for a Dorris automobile produced in St. Louis, Missouri. The cap is nickel plated with low areas painted black. It was probably used on four cylinder models from about 1911 to 1916. The Dorris was built in limited quantities starting in 1906. Dorris cars had an excellent reputation for power, dependability and luxury. There were very successful Dorris agencies scattered across the US. However, much of the company's business strategy was to be a factoryand repair facility meeting the automobile needs of the high society of St. Louis. Over time, the small Dorris Motor Car Company wasn't able to maintain its technological advantages over the rest of the industry at competitive prices. Unable or unwilling to build cheaper cars, the company was out of business by 1926.
Dimension: Inside diameter of the threaded hubcap is 3 1/2 inches. The distance across flats on the hex head is 2 1/16 inches.hubcapco

Dorris_NPCB_3_A.jpgDorris 191594 viewsDescription : This is a nickel plated hubcap for a Dorris automobile or truck. Dorris was a quality automobile built in St. Louis from 1906 into the 1920's. The cars were built in limited numbers, and to very high standards, by one of America's automotive pioneers. I believe this hubcap to be correct for vehicles from approximately 1915 to 1920. The hubcap is a heavy brass casting.
Dimension: This is a large hubcap with 4 3/4 inch threads, and the hex head measures 2 1/4 inches across.
