SGV_NPCB_1_A.jpgSGV102 viewsThis is a heavy cast brass hubcap for an S.G.V. automobile produced in Reading, Pennsylvania from 1911 to 1915. S.G.V.'s were high quality cars whose makers proudly advertised that their cars were being purchased by some of America's wealthiest families. The demise of the company was caused by poor management and under financing, not a lack of product quality. The hubcap is approximately 3 1/4 inches at its widest dimension, having a head that accepts an octagonal wrench approximately 2 1/2 inches across the flats. The coarse male threads are approximately 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The S.G.V. logo is stamped on a sheet brass plate that is riveted to the hubcap casting. There are traces of the original nickel plating. hubcapco
